Wisdom dental billing review: published pricing, what is included, and who it fits
Wisdom’s published insurance billing tiers worked out at five collection levels, what the base service includes, verification and patient billing add-ons, contract terms and fit.
By Dr. Salem Sayegh, general dentist, Glendora, California ·
The short answer: Wisdom is an outsourced dental billing company that pairs AI agents with US-based billers. It submits claims, posts payments daily, works aging and files appeals. It charges $1,397 a month per location under $40,000 in monthly insurance collections, then 3.5% to 2.75%. It says there are no long-term contracts. Verification and patient billing cost extra.
A disclosure first. I am a general dentist and the founder of Amalgamate Technologies, which builds Sai for Dentists. Sai overlaps with Wisdom’s posting and reconciliation, but not its claims and appeals work. This review sticks to what Wisdom publishes. Everything below was checked on November 4, 2026.
What is Wisdom?
Wisdom was founded in 2023. Its CEO, Stoyan Kenderov, was previously COO of the payments company Plastiq. Its co-founder Ashley Bond founded Bond Dental Billing and runs billing as Chief Dental Billing Officer. In August 2025 Wisdom announced a $21 million Series A led by Permanent Capital Ventures, bringing its total to $28 million.
Wisdom describes itself as an AI-powered dental revenue cycle company: software agents do part of the work and US-based billers do the rest. Its core service is insurance billing. Verification and patient billing are separate add-ons with their own prices.

How much does Wisdom cost?
Wisdom publishes its prices, which few billers do. Insurance billing is a flat $1,397 a month under $40,000 in monthly insurance collections, and a percentage of collections above that. Each location is billed separately. Here is that price at five collection levels for one location, reading each rate as applying to the whole month’s collections, which is how the pricing page presents it.
| Monthly insurance collections | Per month | Rate | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| $30,000 | $1,397 | flat | $16,764 |
| $50,000 | $1,750 | 3.5% | $21,000 |
| $75,000 | $2,625 | 3.5% | $31,500 |
| $100,000 | $3,250 | 3.25% | $39,000 |
| $150,000 | $4,125 | 2.75% | $49,500 |
Those prices land within a few dollars of eAssist andDental Claim Support, which charge $1,400 under $40,000 and then 3.5% down to 2.5%. Wisdom’s top tier is 2.75% where theirs reaches 2.5%. In practice the choice between them is about service, not price.
Add-ons, from the same pricing page:
- Insurance verification: $99 a month, plus $8.95 per full breakdown, $2.95 per eligibility check and $1.95 per failed check. Add $2 when you give less than two business days’ notice.
- Patient billing: $1,097 a month under $100,000 in net production, $1,397 up to $249,999, $1,797 up to $499,999, then 0.5% of net production.
What Wisdom does well
- Full scope. Claims, posting, aging and appeals are all in the base price. You hand off the insurance side entirely.
- Published, itemized pricing. You can work out your cost before a sales call.
- Daily posting. Checks, EFTs and ERAs are posted every day, by specialists Wisdom says are US-based.
- No long-term contract. Its posting page says so plainly.
- Reporting. Daily, weekly and monthly tracking reports are included.
What to check before you sign
- Setup fee and notice period. Neither is on the pricing page. Get both in writing.
- Your practice software. The site names no systems. Ask to see a payment posted in yours.
- Multiple locations. Each location is billed on its own collections, so three small offices each pay the $1,397 floor.
- Portal-only EOBs. Ask who retrieves EOBs for payers that send no ERA.
- Allowed amounts against your contracts. Ask whether each allowed amount is checked against your contracted fee schedule before the write-off posts. EOB scrubbing explains why.
- Who owns the work if you leave. Ask what reports and notes you keep when you cancel.
What do offices say about Wisdom?
Wisdom reports a Net Promoter Score of 71 and says more than half of its new clients come through referrals. Its site shows testimonials and industry awards, including a 2025 Dental Innovator Award and a Healthcare Business Review ranking. Those are the company’s own figures and choices. Ask for two offices on your practice software and of your size, and call them.
Who Wisdom fits, and who should look elsewhere
A good fit if you:
- want the whole insurance cycle handed off, claims included;
- have no in-house biller, or yours has left;
- want published pricing and no long-term contract.
Look elsewhere if you:
- already submit claims well and only need posting; Teero covers posting and aging for 2%;
- want a price that does not rise with collections.
How Sai for Dentists differs
- Fixed price. Sai is priced at a fixed amount, never a percentage of collections or a per-claim fee. It is free during our startup cohort.
- Every EOB line checked against your contract. Our dental billing engine compares each allowed amount with your contracted fee schedule and the payer’s rules before the line posts. Underpayments and downgrades are flagged instead of written off, and billing specialists review any line the engine is unsure of.
- Works on screen, in any system. Sai signs in to each payer portal and posts in your practice software the way your team does, then matches totals to the bank deposit.
- No vendor lock-in. Sai works inside your existing setup. Claims, appeals and verification stay with whoever does them today.
Wisdom covers more: if you need someone to submit claims and file appeals, it does that and Sai does not.
If you are behind on posting today
If EOBs have piled up, our startup cohort clears the backlog free: we retrieve the missing EOBs, post every payment and reconcile the deposits. See the free backlog cleanup, or the seven-step plan if you would rather do it yourself.
